Construction Completion
May 2026
The main high school building is getting closer to being fully enclosed as crews continue installing exterior walls and roofing. At the track, a base layer has been applied in the D-Zones, preparing the area for asphalt paving. Work on the auditorium is also progressing well, with the steel structure nearly complete, while the auxiliary gymnasiums for grades 10th –12th are nearing their full height. From the courtyard, you can now clearly see the shape of the building taking form as more exterior walls are installed. Measurements have also been completed for the future glass curtain walls that will be added later. Nearby, the softball batting cage has been built and is receiving its finishing touches, while work on the baseball batting cage is still underway.
Past Updates
April 2026
Construction is moving forward steadily, with progress happening across several areas of the campus. Work on the drainage ditches is still underway to help improve water flow and site conditions. At the auditorium, crews are actively installing structural steel and preparing to install the catwalks. In the 9th grade athletics area, the gymnasiums, locker rooms, offices, and classrooms are nearing an important milestone, with walls almost complete and ready for the next phase of adding structural steel. For the 10th–12th grade athletics facilities, construction is progressing with walls going up for the auxiliary gymnasiums, and nearby offices and locker rooms are taking shape. At the softball and baseball areas, foundations for the batting cages will soon be ready for steel installation. The dugouts had concrete slabs poured and are currently curing before the next stage of construction begins. Overall, the project continues to make solid progress as crews move into the next phases of building.
March 2026
Steady progress continues across the site. Crews are getting ready to pour the next elevated floor, with structural supports being carefully installed to ensure everything is strong and built to last. Inside, plumbing systems are taking shape in the 9th grade gym areas, while steel erection continues to move quickly around the building making the structure more visible each day. Outdoors, work on the track is moving forward with drainage and base layers going in, and foundations for the multipurpose buildings are being completed. Masonry walls are also rising in the weight room area for grades 10–12. Work is continuing across multiple areas as the project advances.
February 2026
Work is moving quickly on the new Spring High School. Steel is continuing to rise for the 10th–12th grade building as cranes work from both directions, and the administration wing for those grades is now clearly taking shape. At the 9th grade gyms, crews are finishing the main concrete block walls so steel supports can be installed next, while at the athletic field the track is now visible as crews prepare the ground layers that will support the final track surface.
January 2026
Site work continues to move forward, with underground plumbing and electrical installations actively underway. Reinforcement for the CMU walls is in place, preparing the structure for the next phase of construction. Additionally, the elevator pit for the auditorium has been successfully poured and properly protected, marking another key milestone in the project’s progress.
December 2025
Construction at the new Spring High School continues to make strong progress, with several key areas moving forward this month. Work on the concrete slab is moving in the right direction. The entire 9th grade wing slab has now been completed, marking an important milestone in the building’s foundation. Preparation of the ground (subgrade) is now complete for the baseball field, softball field, and tennis courts. Work has also begun on underground plumbing for the athletic concession building, laying the groundwork for future construction. The band parking lot has been fully poured since the last update and is now complete, providing improved access and functionality for the campus. The detention pond continues to take shape as earthwork progresses. This feature will help manage stormwater and protect the surrounding area. Construction of the pool is advancing well. The pool floor has been poured, and crews are actively applying shotcrete to form the pool walls. Overall, each completed step brings the Spring High School campus closer to becoming a fully functional and welcoming space for students and the community.
November 2025
Although the rainy weather has been persistent, construction of the new Spring HS is progressing. Reinforced concrete boxes are currently being prepared for installation as part of the new underground storm drainage system. Meanwhile, work on the swimming pool continues, with plumbing being installed before the steel reinforcement (rebar) is added. In addition, the band parking lot has now reached its final ground level and is ready for framing, rebar placement, and concrete pouring. At the same time, the underground electrical system is progressing across the building site and is nearing completion. Finally, at the front elevation of Spring High School, concrete building slabs have been poured for areas 9 through 3, covering more than 130,000 square feet.
October 2025
In October, crews made steady progress across the site. Work continued on the underground electrical infrastructure in Area 12, along with placement of the large 12'x6' storm structures and ongoing installation of the drainage course beneath the natatorium. The athletic track and softball field are quickly taking shape, while the pool walls are being formed in preparation for next month’s concrete pour. Meanwhile, one of the staff parking lots reached a major milestone with the concrete pour completed toward the end of the month.
August 2025
At the new Spring High School site, crews advanced through essential early construction phases during summer 2025. The land was cleared and graded, with pavement work beginning across key access areas. These foundational steps are preparing the site for upcoming vertical construction.
Throughout the summer, design and construction teams remained in close collaboration with district leadership, aligning features with long-term enrollment trends, instructional programming, and future campus needs. The project remains on schedule, keeping Spring High School’s transformation moving steadily forward.
